How it is calculated

  1. Monthly rate i = annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100. Number of instalments n = years × 12.
  2. Each instalment is assumed to be invested at the start of the month and to grow at the monthly rate.
  3. Estimated value = M × ((1 + i)^n − 1) ÷ i × (1 + i), where M is the monthly investment.
  4. With a step-up, the monthly investment in year y is M × (1 + step-up %)^(y − 1).
  5. Amounts are shown to the nearest rupee.
  6. This is an estimate at the rate you entered. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks, and actual returns may be higher or lower.
  7. All calculations are done in your browser. The details you enter are not sent to any server.
