- Documents without photos may be in greyscale. Documents with photos must be in colour.

- Each type of document has an upload limit, for example 1 file for the applicant's recent photograph and 5 files for proof of financial standing.

Online applications for visit, extension of stay, the General Employment Policy, talent schemes and dependants use the same file requirements. The number of files allowed for each type depends on the application; please check the application page.
Make the PDF with this tool
- Step 1 is set to “Hong Kong Immigration online applications”, and step 3 is set to: A4 portrait, 1 image per page, 10 mm margin, file size not more than 5 MB.
- In step 2, upload the images. Arrange them by dragging on the page preview, or with “Move earlier” and “Move later”. Rotate or crop them if needed.
- For bank statements, employment contracts and other documents with several pages, add a photo of each page and make one PDF, so you stay within the number of files for that type.
- Keep documents with photos, such as the travel document data page, in colour.
- In step 4, check the pages, paper and file size. When all items are valid, download the PDF.
Common reasons for rejection
- The file is larger than 5 MB and cannot be uploaded.
- More files were added for one type of document than the upload limit allows.
