How it is calculated

  1. CPF is calculated on Ordinary Wages up to $8,000 a month, and on Additional Wages such as bonuses up to $102,000 minus the Ordinary Wages subject to CPF for the year.
  2. Above $750 a month, total CPF = (employer's rate + employee's rate) × wages. From $500 to $750, the employee's share is phased in: 3 × the employee's rate × (wages − $500). From $50 to $500, only the employer contributes. At $50 or less, no CPF is payable.
  3. The total contribution is rounded to the nearest dollar, and the employee's share is rounded down to the nearest dollar. The employer's share is the total minus the employee's share.
  4. The total contribution is allocated to MediSave first, then to the Special Account (Retirement Account above 55), and the rest to the Ordinary Account, at the allocation rates for your age.
  5. Take-home pay = monthly salary − your CPF contribution. Foreigners on work passes do not contribute to CPF.
  6. Not included: income tax, Self-Help Group fund contributions, and contributions on wages that change from month to month.
  7. All calculations are done in your browser. The details you enter are not sent to any server.
