In decimal hours
8.00 hours
In minutes
480 minutes
In seconds

How it is calculated

  1. Time between two times: the end time minus the start time. If the end time is earlier than the start time, it is taken as the next day, which adds 24 hours. The break is then deducted.
  2. Adding or subtracting durations: both durations are converted to seconds, added or subtracted, and converted back to hours, minutes and seconds. A negative result is shown with a minus sign.
  3. Decimal hours: 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3,600 seconds. 7.75 hours = 7 hours + 0.75 × 60 minutes = 7 hours 45 minutes.
  4. Decimal hours are rounded to two decimal places.
