How it is calculated

  1. Annual leave is counted from the start date: first after 6 months of service, then on each anniversary.
  2. Days under Article 38 of the Labor Standards Act: 6 months to under 1 year, 3 days; 1 to under 2 years, 7 days; 2 to under 3 years, 10 days; 3 to under 5 years, 14 days a year; 5 to under 10 years, 15 days a year; from 10 years, 1 more day for each year, up to 30 days.
  3. The employer must pay for days not taken by the end of the year or when employment ends. For monthly-paid workers, one day's pay is the normal pay for the latest month divided by 30 (Enforcement Rules, Article 24-1). When employment ends, leave is counted from the start date.
  4. If the date after adding the months does not exist (for example, 6 months after 31 August), the last day of that month is used.
  5. All calculations are done in your browser. The details you enter are not sent to any server.
