Taiwan overtime pay calculator

How it is calculated

1. For monthly-paid workers, unless agreed otherwise, the hourly wage = monthly salary ÷ 30 ÷ 8 (that is, ÷ 240).
2. Overtime on a workday: at least 1/3 extra (4/3 of the hourly wage) for the first 2 hours, and at least 2/3 extra (5/3) for the next 2 hours. Normal and overtime hours together may not exceed 12 hours a day, so a workday has at most 4 hours of overtime.
3. Work on a rest day: at least 1⅓ of the hourly wage extra for the first 2 hours, and at least 1⅔ extra from the third hour. The monthly salary already includes that day, so this calculator shows the extra pay.
4. Work on a national holiday: pay is doubled, meaning one extra day's pay (hourly wage × 8) on top of the usual pay, even for less than 8 hours. Hours beyond 8 are paid as overtime: 4/3 for the 9th and 10th hours and 5/3 for the 11th and 12th.
5. Hourly-paid work, shift work, workers under Article 84-1 and flexible working hours follow other rules and are not covered.
