How to use
- Upload the PDF file.
- Select Convert and download, and wait while the server converts the file.
- Download the Word document (.docx) and open it in Microsoft Word or another word processor.
Please note
- Each block of text is placed in a text box in its original position, so the page looks like the original. When a long passage is rewritten, the text does not flow on to the next page.
- Text in scanned pages (images) cannot be converted into editable text. Scanned pages remain images.
- If the PDF has an open password, please remove the password before converting.
- This tool uploads your file to our server for conversion. Each file must not be more than 20 MB. The file is deleted from the server as soon as the conversion is complete.
Common questions
- Will the layout change?
- Text and images keep their positions, so the layout usually stays the same. If the PDF uses a font that is not installed on your computer, Word shows a similar font, and the text width may differ slightly.
- Why can a scanned PDF not be edited?
- Each page of a scanned PDF is an image with no text in it. This tool does not recognise text (OCR), so the pages remain images.
- Is my file kept on the server?
- No. The file is used only for this conversion and is deleted as soon as the result is returned to your browser. If a conversion is interrupted, any remaining file is deleted within 1 hour. A conversion that takes more than 90 seconds is stopped.
