How it is calculated

  1. Your salary is rounded up to the next grade in each table: up to NT$45,800 for labor insurance, NT$313,000 for national health insurance and NT$150,000 for the pension.
  2. Labor insurance is 11.5% and employment insurance 1% of the insured salary. You pay 20% and your employer 70%. The two amounts are rounded separately and then added.
  3. National health insurance is 5.17%. You pay 30%, plus the same again for each dependant (up to 3). Your employer pays 60% for 1.56 people (you and an average of 0.56 dependants).
  4. Labour pension: your employer contributes at least 6% of your pension grade each month. You may also contribute up to 6% from your salary. Amounts are rounded to the nearest dollar.
  5. Take-home pay = salary − labor and employment insurance − national health insurance − voluntary pension contribution.
  6. All calculations are done in your browser. The details you enter are not sent to any server.
