Rotating and Deleting PDF Pages: Fix Scanned Documents in Bulk

PDF 页面旋转与删除指南:批量修正扫描文档

"My scanned PDF has pages that are upside down or sideways, plus several blank pages mixed in. Manually rotating them one by one is maddening — is there a way to fix them in bulk?"

Suried PDF's rotate and delete features support visual bulk operations — select the page cards you need to fix, rotate 90°/180°/270° or delete in bulk with one click, preview results in real time, and export a clean PDF.

01 Selecting Pages to Rotate

After uploading a PDF, all pages display as thumbnail cards. You can instantly see which pages have orientation issues — upside down, landscape, or tilted pages are immediately obvious.

Click thumbnails to select pages that need rotation. Multiple pages with the same orientation error? No problem — hold Shift to multi-select or use "Select All" to select every page that needs fixing at once.

The selection mechanism is the same as in Extract mode — click, Shift+click for range selection, and range input are all supported, keeping the interaction consistent with no extra learning curve.

02 Choosing Rotation Angles (90° / 180° / 270°)

After selecting pages, choose a rotation angle: 90° clockwise, 180° (flip), or 270° clockwise (equivalent to 90° counter-clockwise). The tool provides intuitive rotation buttons, and clicking shows a real-time preview on the thumbnail.

The most common scenario is 90° clockwise rotation — converting landscape-scanned pages to portrait orientation. For fully upside-down pages, use 180° rotation. For counter-clockwise rotation, choose 270°.

Rotation is non-destructive — you can adjust the angle repeatedly until you're satisfied with the result. Each rotation is reflected on the thumbnail in real time, so you can clearly see the final effect.

Not sure how many degrees to rotate? Try 90° clockwise on a single page first and check the thumbnail preview. If it's still wrong, click rotate again (equivalent to 180°), and repeat until correct.

03 Deleting Unwanted Pages

Scanned documents often include blank pages, duplicates, or unwanted covers. In Suried, select those pages and click "Delete" to remove them.

Deletion is also visual — you can clearly see which pages are blank or duplicated in the thumbnails. After deleting, the page list updates in real time to help you confirm the result.

Deletions can be undone before generating the final file. If you accidentally delete the wrong page, you can undo or re-upload the original file. All changes are only written to the final file when you click "Save / Download."

04 Saving and Downloading Results

After completing all rotation and deletion operations, review the thumbnail preview to confirm every page meets your expectations. Then click "Save" or "Download" to generate the final PDF.

The tool processes everything locally in the browser — applying rotation angles to the corresponding pages, removing deleted pages, and producing a clean new PDF file.

The downloaded PDF maintains original resolution, and rotated pages correctly display the new orientation. Whether printing or opening in other PDF readers, page orientations will be accurate.

If you need both rotation and merging, complete the rotation first and download the corrected PDF, then use the merge feature to combine it with other files.

FAQ

Does rotation reduce the PDF's image quality?

No. Rotation only changes the page's display orientation metadata — it doesn't re-render or compress page content, so the original quality is fully preserved.

Can I rotate only some pages in a PDF?

Yes. You can select any pages to rotate while unselected pages keep their original orientation. This is exactly the advantage of visual selection — precise control over every page.

Can I recover pages after deleting them?

Before clicking "Save / Download" to generate the final file, you can undo deletions or re-upload the original file. Once the new file is generated and downloaded, deleted pages can't be recovered from it (but the original file is unaffected).

Can I apply different rotation angles to different pages?

Yes. First select the pages that need 90° rotation and rotate them, then deselect, select the pages that need 180° rotation, and rotate those. Work in batches to achieve different angles.

Is rotating a PDF with hundreds of pages slow?

Rotation itself is very fast since it only modifies orientation metadata. However, rendering thumbnails for hundreds of pages may take some time. In modern browsers, a 200-page PDF typically completes all operations in a few seconds.
