How to use

  1. This tool creates static QR codes. The content is stored in the pattern, so scanning does not pass through this website and the code does not expire. The content cannot be changed later. Please create a new code if the content changes.
  2. A higher error correction level allows a damaged or partly covered code to be read, but makes the pattern denser: L about 7%, M about 15%, Q about 25% and H about 30%. Level H is selected automatically when you add a logo.
  3. Please use a dark foreground on a light background with clear contrast. Some scanning apps cannot read a code whose foreground is lighter than its background. Please scan the code with a phone before printing.
  4. WiFi codes use the common format WIFI:T:security;S:network name;P:password;;. Semicolons, commas, colons, quotation marks and backslashes in the name and password are escaped automatically.

Codes are created in your browser with node-qrcode (MIT licence). Your content and logo are not uploaded. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

Frequently asked questions

Will the QR code expire?
No. The content is stored in the pattern itself and scanning does not pass through this website, so the code continues to work even if this website stops operating.
How much content can a QR code hold?
At level L, up to about 2,900 English characters or about 980 Chinese characters. Higher levels hold less. Longer content makes the pattern denser, so please keep links short.
