How to use

  1. Choose the city to convert from (your own time zone by default) and enter a date and time. If you do not change them, the current date and time in that city are used.
  2. The time in each city is calculated by the time zone database built into your browser (the IANA Time Zone Database), including daylight saving time. The same moment can fall on different dates in different cities, and the result is marked next day or previous day.
  3. The 24-hour chart shows each hour of the chosen date in every city. Local times from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM are in bold to help you plan meetings across time zones.
  4. When daylight saving time starts, local clocks skip 1 hour, and a skipped time is converted as the time after the change. When daylight saving time ends, 1 hour occurs twice, and the first occurrence is used.

Daylight saving time

Pacific Time is PST (UTC−8) in winter and PDT (UTC−7) in summer. Eastern Time is EST (UTC−5) in winter and EDT (UTC−4) in summer. Both use daylight saving time in 2026, from March 8, 2026 to November 1, 2026; in 2027, from March 14, 2027 to November 7, 2027, so the difference stays at 3 hours.

Notes

  • PST and EST are the winter (standard time) names. From March to November the same time zones are called PDT and EDT. Many people still write PST and EST all year.
  • Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Las Vegas use Pacific Time. New York, Washington, Boston, Atlanta and Miami use Eastern Time.

Common questions

Why does the time difference between two cities change during the year?
Places with daylight saving time change their clocks twice a year, so the difference from places without it changes by 1 hour. If both places use it but change on different dates, the difference also changes between those dates.
My city is not in the list. What should I do?
