The online visa and entry permit applications of the Immigration Department do not set a pixel size or background colour for the photograph. This tool exports 1200 × 1600 pixels, the size set for digital travel document photographs. This is not a visa requirement.

- Is 1200 × 1600 pixels required for a Hong Kong visa photo?
- No. The online application pages for visas and entry permits do not set a pixel size for the photograph. They accept JPEG, PDF, GIF, PNG or TIF files of 5 MB or below, in colour for documents with photos. 1200 × 1600 pixels is the minimum the Immigration Department sets for digital passport photographs, so this tool uses it.
- What size is a printed Hong Kong visa photo?
- The paper application form ID 990A asks for a photograph not larger than 55 mm × 45 mm and not smaller than 50 mm × 40 mm. This tool prints at 40 mm × 50 mm.
