  • The photograph must be in colour and taken within the last 3 months.
  • Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression and your mouth closed. Your eyes, both shoulders and your hair must be fully visible.
  • Spectacle lenses must be clear, and coloured contact lenses are not allowed. Headgear worn for religious or racial reasons must be dark in colour.
  • The digital photograph must be the original. It must not be altered or enhanced in any way, including with computer software or mobile apps.
  • The file may be in jpg, jpeg, heic, heif or png format, not more than 8 MB.

This size applies to passport applications and renewals made online through ICA e-Services. A printed photograph, where one is required, must be 35 mm wide by 45 mm high, matte or semi-matte, with the face measuring 25 mm to 35 mm from chin to crown.

What is the Singapore passport photo size in mm?
For a paper application made at an overseas mission, form IMM(E)11 requires a printed photograph 35 mm wide by 45 mm high, with the face measuring 25 mm to 35 mm from chin to crown. For an online application, upload a digital photograph of 400 × 514 pixels.
Can I change the background of my photograph?
ICA states that the photograph must not be altered or enhanced in any way, and that the background must be white. If you can, take the photograph against a plain white wall and select Original in Step 3, so that the tool only crops and resizes it. ICA checks every photograph after it is uploaded.
