Convert to PNG

Output format

PNG is a lossless format. There is no quality setting, and the image is saved without loss.

Upload images (current step)

You can also drag images here.

You can select several images at once, up to 100. Accepted formats: HEIC, WebP, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, AVIF and SVG.

Check and download

After you upload images, check the results and download them here.

Why convert SVG to PNG

  • SVG has no fixed pixel size. To upload an image that must have specific pixel dimensions (for example, a profile picture or a cover image), first convert the SVG to PNG or another bitmap format at the required size.[1]
  • SVG and PNG both support transparency. Icons and logos keep their transparent backgrounds after conversion to PNG.[2][3]

How to convert

  1. “Convert to PNG” is already selected in Step 1.
  2. In Step 2, choose or drag in your SVG files. You can add several at once, and conversion starts automatically.
  3. In Step 3, check the results and download one image, or all images as a ZIP file.

What changes after converting SVG to PNG

  • The result is a bitmap with a fixed number of pixels, and it becomes blurred when enlarged. Please choose a large enough scale in Step 1. The pixel size of each converted image is shown in the list in Step 2.
  • When a browser loads an SVG as an image, it does not run scripts or load external images and style sheets. Parts of the SVG that use external resources may be missing from the result.[4]
  • This tool exports still images. If the original is animated, only the first frame is kept.
  • The converted image does not contain the shooting information (EXIF) of the original, such as the date, camera model and location. The image is turned upright according to the orientation recorded in the original.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the converted PNG?
The width and height stated in the SVG file (or its viewBox, if they are not stated), multiplied by the scale chosen in Step 1. If neither is stated, 300×150 pixels is used.
Is the PNG file larger or smaller than the original SVG file?
The size of a PNG increases with its pixel dimensions: the larger the scale, the larger the file. The pixel size and file size of each image are shown in the list in Step 2.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. You can select or drag in up to 100 images at a time. When all images are converted, you can download them one by one or together as one ZIP file.

About the SVG format

  • SVG is a W3C standard. It describes two-dimensional vector graphics as XML text and is commonly used for icons, logos and illustrations.[2]
  • An SVG image can be displayed at any size without losing sharpness. It has no fixed pixel size and is not suitable for storing photos.[1]
  • All major browsers support SVG.[1]
